ABSTRACT
Transportation management associations (TMAs), sometimes known as transportation management organizations, are nonprofi t organizations formed by business owners to solve local transportation problems. Although they function in small geographic areas and number fewer than two hundred, TMAs have exercised an increasingly signifi cant role in the formation of transportation policies and the delivery of transportation services in many of our metropolitan areas in the last two decades.
