Customer Order Lead Time All companies operate in different environments because they provide different customer needs. The length of time the customer is willing to wait for delivery of the product from the time they order the product to receiving the product is one of these characteristics. The differences in terms of lead time for these operating environments are shown in Figure 6.1.
