ABSTRACT

Introduction The classical sandwich plate is a three-layer plate model consisting of two relatively stiff outer layers and a more compliant inner layer. Various sandwich plate and constrained layer models have been proposed and analyzed, see e.g., DiTaranto [2], Mead and Markus [9], Rao and Nakra [10]. For a review and some comparisons of these models see e.g., Sun and Lu [11]or Mead [8].
