ABSTRACT

I. INTRODUCTION Fabric softness refers to a pleasant feel when using garments, which is maintained by regularly treating the laundry with appropriate products. Fabric softeners, however, deliver much more than a soft, fluffy, luxurious feel to most fabrics. They reduce the static cling and electric shock generated by static electricity buildup. They decrease fabric wrinkling and make ironing easier and drying time shorter. They reduce fiber damage. Moreover, due to their fragrance, they impart a pleasant smell to the washed fabric. They may also deliver various actives such as soil release agents, whitening agents, and antiwrinkle agents to the fabric.
