Trans-azobenezene was detected by Raman spectroscopy as an adsorbed species on a silver cathode in the reduction of nitrobenzene [194]. Hydroxylamine intermediates derived from the electroreduction of y-nitroketones undergo intramolecular cyclization, and the cyclized products arc further reduced to isomeric pyrrolidines [195].
