ABSTRACT

This may be true. But as the authors concede, things have changed. Nevertheless, the number of electrochemical organic processes has not risen significantly in the last two decades. On the contrary, the two most prominent electroorganic processes, the hydrodimerization of acrylonitrile and the production of tetraethyllead, have lost some of their importance. The ADN process is operating at several sites worldwide, but it is stagnating because other technical alternatives show better performance [3]. The NALCO tetraethyllead process was discontinued because the demand for leaded fuels is decreasing for ecological reasons.
