      ABSTRACT

      Surfactant adsorbed layers formed on particles by adsorption of surfactants exhibit hydrophobic properties where waterinsoluble compounds are incorporated in the layers. This phenomenon is called ‘‘adsolubilization.’’ Mixed surfactant systems change markedly the adsolubilization behavior. In this chapter, adsolubilization by binary surfactant mixtures and adsorption characteristics by the mixtures are discussed.
