ABSTRACT

NetWare has been one of the most stable, recognizable, and trusted brand names in the computer business for the last decade. Why change a good thing by renaming it intraNetWare? In defense of the Novell marketing executives who morphed NetWare into intraNetWare, this is only one in a long string of name changes. In the beginning, Novell went by the name Novell Data Systems, and went bankrupt. It was not until NetWare took off in the late 1980s that many people knew what NetWare was, and the name had already changed twice.
