ABSTRACT

In this age of technology and information, humans are better equipped than ever before to assess the impact that our activities have on the Earth and its ecosystems. Our ability to investigate these changes has rapidly increased our awareness of the speed and scale of the current progression of environmental degradation. Fortunately, that awareness has directed us to use our newfound tools, not only to monitor the damaging processes, but also to evaluate strategies to minimize environmental degradation and initiate restorative processes.
