ABSTRACT

Eagle River Flats (ERF), Alaska is an 865-ha tidal flat located on the Cook Inlet near Anchorage (Figure 27.1). It is used by waterfowl and shorebirds throughout the spring and summer and is particularly important as a spring and fall staging or stopover area for more than 75 species of migratory ducks, geese, swans, raptors, gulls, shorebirds, and passerines.
