ABSTRACT
Effective environmental management aims to achieve goals for optimizing resource use and minimizing environmental impact, while at the same time maintaining economic growth and viability. Environmental management as it is used here includes not only formal management processes, but also a range of environmentrelated activities of individuals and groups and those interested in environmental programs, policies, and outcomes. The word environment is directed not only to purely physical environmental factors, but also to the understanding that their effective management must take into account the social and economic factors.
