ABSTRACT
This chapter discusses several uses of GIS and its role in community empowerment at the Cherokee Nation GeoData Center, which is an entity within the Cherokee Nation tribal government. The role of the GeoData Center is to provide spatial
analyses and data analyses to assist in decision support, policy issues, and tribal planning efforts.
