ABSTRACT
Australia’s tropical and subtropical areas extend from 10° S to about 30° S. As a developed country, Australia is unique in having such a large area (˜50% or >4M km2) within the tropics. It is perhaps 296not surprising then that Australia has taken a major role in the investigation and development of tropical pasture species to improve the productivity of its grazing lands.
