Linking molecular and cellular phenomena to behavior requires the development of large scale network models, to understand how cellular phenomena influence the functional dynamics of neural networks. These types of network models will be essential for understanding the mechanism for changes in behavior caused by experimental manipulations such as the administration of drugs or knocking out of genes.
