ABSTRACT
In forensic anthropology, commingling refers to the mixing together of remains of different origins. Usually the term applies to situations in which remains of more than one individual have become mixed together. The scientific problem is to determine if this has occurred, and, if so, what parts and what different individuals are represented. In the most general terms, commingling refers to the mixing of evidence in a manner that may require scientific study to differentiate the various components.
