ABSTRACT
Security needs for a building must be determined early, as part of the project programming and definition process. Burglary, industrial espionage, shoplifting, riots, vandalism, assault, rape, murder, and employee theft are crimes that imperil lives and drive up the cost of doing business. As crime increases, incorporating security into the design and construction in all building types is critical for crime prevention.
