Mining operations in industrially developing countries (IDCs) are frequently associated with diffi cult working conditions, and mining is considered to be one of the most physically

demanding occupations. In addition, mining equipment used in both industrially advanced countries (IACs) and IDCs is frequently designed only for functionality without considering basic ergonomics principles such as the anthropometry and functional capabilities and strength of the users.
