ABSTRACT
Timing acquisition: After down-conversion and analog-to-digital conversion, the receiver sees a sequence of baseband samples. Before block processing (cyclic-prefix (CP) removal, fast Fourier transform (FFT), etc.) can begin, the symbol boundaries have to be determined. Timing offsets are caused by the inherent lack of a timing reference at the receiver.
