ABSTRACT
This chapter deals not only with the dangers posed by hazardous substances but also examines the general subject of health, safety, and accident prevention. In addition, the laws and legislation passed to protect workers, the public, and the environment from the effects of these chemicals are also reviewed. The chapter discusses the regulations with particular emphasis on emergency planning and the training of personnel.
