ABSTRACT

Environmental auditing is fast becoming an integral component of a facility's management plan that not only promoting compliance with regulatory requirements but also limiting environmental liabilities in the form of costly penalties and thirdparty lawsuits. Corporations have come to realize the significant benefits resulting from conducting environmental audits. These benefits range from drastic reduction of fines from federal and state environmental protection agencies through implementation of their audit policies, to participation in the flow of lucrative "green" dollars through businesses that promote and reward other environmentally conscious entities. Consumers often seek out and patronize these businesses for their environmental policies.
