Shape-memory polymers (SMPs), a type of shape-memory material, are de ned as polymeric materials with the ability to sense and respond to external stimuli in a predetermined shape [1,2]. Compared with shape-memory metals and ceramics, SMPs possess such characteristics as light weight, corrosion resistance (compared with metals), formability, workability, and low cost [3,4]. Such polymers as polynorbornylene, transpolyisoprene, styrenebutadiene copolymer, polyethylene, polyester copolymerized with others, and block polyurethanes, etc., have been found to have shape-memory effect [4,5].
