ABSTRACT
In explaining the persuasive attraction of alternative medicine, Kaptchuk and Eisenberg (1998) note, “The fundamental premises are an advocacy of nature, vitalism, science, and spirituality.” With this in mind, the science underpinning aromatherapy will be explored.
