ABSTRACT
Head and facial pain has plagued mankind throughout recorded history. In ancient times it was believed that the victim’s suffering was due to evil spirits and humors that invaded the cranium. Prayers of exorcism and the application of magic potions were often performed to drive away these demons and end the victim’s misery.
