ABSTRACT
The independent medical examiner (IME) deals frequently with injuries or pathologies of the neuro-orthopedic systems. These systems comprise nerves, muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, capsules, and bones. These tissues are of primary concern in impairment evaluation. However, the evaluation of these tissues should not exclude the evaluation of other systems within the realm of a comprehensive physical exam and objective investigations.
