Business end users are also starting to expect error-free network connectivity with guaranteed uptime and response time. These users also expect network services to be delivered regardless of the underlying technology. This increase in reliance on client/server applications as a fundamental part of conducting business means that end users need to rely on the network as much as the phone. The combination of the maturing of the underlying technology and the end users’ expectations means that the monitoring and analyzing of the network is a critical function of any IT group.
