ABSTRACT
Cell polarization and migration play a central role in the development and maintenance of tissues in multicellular organisms. During ontogenesis, new tissues are formed by the coordinated division and locomotion of single cells. The polarization of a cell not only defines the direction of migration [30], but also the cell division axis [61] and thus the 3-D structures of tissues, organs, and finally the whole organism.
