ABSTRACT
The term community policing has become something like motherhood. It has a wonderful connotation. Who could be against it? Indeed, there are probably not too many police executives in the Western world who would admit that they are not practicing community policing. Those who do make such admissions have probably succumbed to the imperatives of innovation and refer to what they are now doing as a “higher form” of community policing.
