ABSTRACT
Police culture has been studied for many years (Fielding, 1984; Reuss-Ianni, 1993), and it has received increased attention in police organizations in recent years. For example, Christensen and Crank (2001) studied police work and culture in a nonurban setting in the United States. They found a police culture emphasizing secrecy, self-protection, violence, and the maintenance of respect.
