ABSTRACT
Individual susceptibility to hepatic injury may be affected by genetic factors, age, sex, nutritional status, exposure to other drugs and chemicals, systemic disease, and other factors (Table 1 ). For the most part, the factors that affect vulnerability appear to result from their effects on conversion of the respective agents to a metabolite or on the detoxification or disposal of the metabolite (5).
