ABSTRACT
Cladribine (2-chlorodeoxyadenosine, 2-CDA, Leustatin™) was developed as a highly specific lymphocytotoxic agent J 1! This purine nucleoside is resistant to the action of adenosine deaminase and accumulates in resting and dividing lympho cytes, inducing apoptosis. The resulting immune deficiency mimics that of adenosine deaminase deficiency.
