ABSTRACT
This introductory chapter details the struggle of the Founding Fathers to lay the groundwork for a great nation. The issues facing the country following the Revolutionary War were not much different from those we face today. By studying the history of the Constitution one becomes increasingly aware of the protections the document offers and the reasons these protections are so important in securing continued evolution of this country.
