ABSTRACT

The residual load-bearing capacity of concrete structures after fire is both from an owner’s and from an insurance technical point of view of great importance. The owner has an interest in restarting the business or activity as soon as possible and not to suffer too much even if the insurance company must compensate for the immediate loss but not for unpredictable future loss. Also the insurance company wants to keep down the interruption and repair costs and reuse the building as soon as possible. You are able to assess the residual load-bearing capacity after fire and evaluate and make a decision of possible repair measures for reuse of the structure and a corresponding cost analysis.
