ABSTRACT

The measurement and analysis of sport performance is an integral aspect of training and preparation for elite athletes of all disciplines. Traditionally the majority of performance analysis occurs in a laboratory setting or during designated testing sessions, possibly in unfamiliar environments. This type of testing environment can have an affect on the athletes performance, often in a psychological (Kerr & Kuk, 2001; Kerr et al., 2006) or physiological (Bonen et al., 1980) sense. Therefore it is preferential to measure an athlete’s performance in-situ, in their natural training or competition environment. In-situ measurement may provide additional information that can not be obtained from laboratory based testing.
