ABSTRACT
Foams are cellular materials with the ability to undergo large deformation at nearly constant stress. They are used for absorbing the energy of impacts in packaging and crash protection. Such application requires knowledge of the foams properties, especially their compressive response at various impact velocities or strain rates (Ruan et al., 2002).
