ABSTRACT

Teenagers and college-age students are experiencing rapid personality development and learning about life; they also have a great deal of curiosity and want to experience adventures. According to McCrae & Costa (1994), although the level of personality traits are very stable in adulthood (after age 30), there are significant changes between adolescence and early adulthood (with some decreases in neuroticism, extraversion and openness and increase in agreeableness and conscientiousness). Leisure activity plays a very important role in college-age students’ personality. This may be the most important time of psychological and physical development in their life. Misdirected leisure time may influence personality development and learning. Participation in leisure activity that improves quality of life and leisure satisfaction becomes very important.
