ABSTRACT
Golf is a sport played outdoors under natural conditions. Especially, the effect by the wind on the results of the game is not small. Skilled professional golfers, through experience, will have a feel for the force and direction of the wind and set up strategies in club selection and the shot to be made. However a quantitative study concerning the effect of wind on the trajectory of the ball under various conditions is not found. Mizota et al. (2002) and Naruo & Mizota (2005) proposed a method of analyzing the trajectory under the atmospheric boundary layer. Upon confirming the validity of the method on analyzing the trajectory (Naruo & Mizota, 2006), the method was used to analyze the effect of the wind on trajectory under various launch conditions.
