ABSTRACT

Five experienced male university soccer players (age 23.4 0.5years, height 171.4 5.2 cm, weight 57.6 3.9 kg) participated in this study. They were instructed to perform side-foot kicking with one step approach, to a target that was positioned 4 m away. All participants performed approximately 30 kicks in varying patterns of impact. A FIFA

approved size 5 soccer ball (mass 432 g) was used and its inflation was controlled throughout the trials at 9.7 psi. Two electrically synchronized high-speed video cameras (MEMRECAM fx-K4, nac Inc., Japan) were used to capture the kicking motions at 2500 fps (exposure time 1/5000 s).
