ABSTRACT
Whether or not they are consciously aware of the specifics, a general audience is very familiar with cloth and has certain expectations for how fabric should look and behave. If fabric does not move properly, the audience may or may not be able to identify the problem but there is usually a sense that something is wrong. This is an especially important concern in animation and can easily break the illusion of life being experienced by the audience.
