Slabanalysis[33]- Slabanalysisdeterminesthepressuredistributionalongthearcofrollcontact withtheworkpiecebyconsideringthebalanceofexternalforcesincludingfrictionalforcesthatare appliedtothedeformationzone(Fig.18.20a).Thepracticalapplicationofthisanalysisislimited,especiallyinhotrolling,duetotheinhomogeneouscharacteristicsofthedeformedmaterialduringrolling.
