ABSTRACT
The two forms of roll wear that are generally recognized are overall and local. Overall work roll wear is defined as the roll wear along the entire length of the roll barrel that is engaged in contact with the rolled product. This wear is caused by abrasion in combination with thermal and mechanical fatigue, with corrosive wear playing a subordinate role [17].
