ABSTRACT
Alpha radiation - Alpha radiation produces fast helium nuclei with a positive charge. Alpha particles interact very strongly with the absorbing material because of their relatively large mass and double positive charge. These particles are very easily stopped in spite of their relatively high energy and are capable of travelling only a few centimeters in the air before coming to rest.
