ABSTRACT

The spread of the Australian melaleuca tree (M elaleuca quinquenervia) across the Everglades began with its introduction into south Florida early in the 20th century. Because the tree has tremendous reproductive, invasive, and survival capabilities, it has overtaken large areas.
