Itisnotgenerallyknownthatthe"tech"inTechnicolor,isthesame"tech" asin"MIT,"andthattheTechnicolorMotionPictureCorporationwasa spinofffromKalmus,Comstock,andWestcott,astill-extantCambridge consultingcorporation.AsagraduatestudentatHarvard,Iwasassistedby atechnicianwhohadworkedwithDr.Kalmus,thefounderofTechnicolor, beforethecompanymovedwest.IwaslaterrecruitedtoTechnicolorby DonKelly.*HeintroducedmetocolorimetryandJonesdiagrams,andI gotalotofpracticalexperiencewatchingmuchoftheTechnicolorResearch Departmentworkingtostabilizethedye-transferprocess.
