ABSTRACT
The Polish building masonry enclosure system was strongly changed during last century. For a better understanding of the Polish reality on that field, a short review and discussion of the process of Polish masonry buildings systems evolution is presented and described in this paper. These changes and progress of masonry industry and practice were connected with increasing of requirements concerning with thermal protection of the buildings. Moreover, the main problems related with specificity of buildings situated on terrains subjected to static and dynamic influences connected with mining activity (in some industrial regions in South Poland) are also presented and discussed.
