ABSTRACT
Masonry is the most used enclosure wall systems in Brazilian buildings, either structural or non-load bearing masonry. The walls are made of ceramic, concrete or calcium silicate bricks and blocks. The present paper describes the materials, techniques of construction and durability aspects of Brazilian masonry walls. Some aspects of the Brazilian construction industry are also pointed out.
