ABSTRACT
Masonry has been used for a very long time in China, and it still be widely used for many new structures. Materials used for masonry walls, types and characteristics of masonry walls, and applications of masonry walls in different kinds of structures, are described in this paper. The probabilistic theory based design method of masonry structures according to the current Chinese code and trends of development of masonry structures are also introduced.
