ABSTRACT
According to the strategy defined on CIB Commission W023-Wall Structures and as a contribution to the perspectives of masonry from across the world, an effort has been made here to discuss masonry enclosure systems in India. The contribution highlights the diversity in geography and culture and also the history of development of masonry enclosures that have created the astounding variety. Recent developments with regard to seismic performances are mentioned.
