2 SPURIOUS EMERGENCY BRAKE (EB) APPLICATION

There are some small differences in the applications of ALSTOM’s ATC trainborne sub-system by different projects. But in all of them the ATC trainborne subsystem spuriously applies the EB if at least one the following events occurs:

• at least one of the two emergency brakes voters is spuriously opened in the EVC section;

• at least 2-out-of-3 (2oo3) EVC channels are faulty, and then inhibited;

• the transmission eurobalise sub-system fails; • the connection to the train (backplane) fails; and/or • the odometry sub-system functionality fails.
