ABSTRACT

Researchers have argued that linear approaches fail to represent the complex dynamics and interdependencies commonly observed in socio-technical systems (Amalberti, 2001; Dekker, 2004; Hollnagel, 2004; Leveson, 2001; Rochlin, 1999; Woods & Cook, 2002). Recently, systemic models and methods have been proposed that consider the system as a whole and emphasize the interaction of the functional elements.
