Molecular phylogeny of the suborder Plagiorchiata and its position in the system of Digenea

The suborder Plagiorchiata is a large group of digenean trematodes which includes a number of family-level taxa (Skrjabin and, Antipin 1958; Yamaguti 1958, 1971; Brooks et al. 1985a, 1989; Sharpilo and Iskova 1989). Despite the extensive amount of published information, the limits of the suborder are not clear, and have always been a subject of controversy.
